Revolut Plus is the cheapest paid plan and the one with the narrowest appeal. It didn't go up in October's price rise, which makes it relatively better value than it was, but it still doesn't touch the things most people upgrade for: savings rates, RevPoints and bundled subscriptions. Here's exactly what you get, checked on Revolut's Plus page today, and how to tell whether it'll pay for itself.

Key takeaways

  • Plus costs £3.99 a month or £40 a year, unchanged in Revolut's October 2026 price rise.
  • It triples the exchange limit from £1,000 to £3,000 a month. Above that, the fair usage fee is 0.5% instead of 1%.
  • Purchase protection covers eligible items up to £1,000 a year if they're stolen or damaged.
  • Savings (2.90% AER) and RevPoints (1 per £10) are the same as the free plan.
  • It's a 12-month plan. Leave early and a break fee may apply.

What does Revolut Plus include?

Plus keeps everything on the free Standard plan and adds a handful of upgrades. According to Revolut's Plus page and plan comparison:

  • £3,000 a month of currency exchange with no fair usage fee, Monday to Friday, in 35+ currencies
  • Purchase protection up to £1,000 a year on eligible items bought with your Plus account
  • Extended refund and event ticket cover (details are in the insurance terms)
  • 3 commission-free stock trades a month, up from 1
  • A personalised Plus card
  • Priority in-app chat support, 24/7
  • Up to 5 linked Kids & Teens accounts for 6 to 17-year-olds

Revolut estimates the Plus benefits are worth about £100 a year on average. That's Revolut's own figure, based on customer data, and your value depends entirely on how you use it.

How much does Revolut Plus cost?

Revolut Plus costs £3.99 a month, or £40 if you pay for the year upfront. Paying annually saves £7.88 compared with 12 monthly payments.

Plus was the only paid plan that didn't get more expensive in October 2026. Premium, Metal and Ultra all went up for new customers from 14 October, and existing customers move to the new prices on 19 December, according to DepositScout's analysis of Revolut's fees page.

Plan Monthly Annual Change in October 2026
Standard £0 £0 None
Plus £3.99 £40 None
Premium £8.99 £90 Up £1 a month
Metal £16.99 £165 Up £2 a month
Ultra £60 £595 Up £5 a month

Like the other paid plans, Plus is a 12-month plan. You can cancel at any time, but if you pay monthly and leave early, a break fee may apply. Check the Paid Plan Terms in the app before you upgrade.

Is Revolut Plus worth it?

Revolut Plus is worth it if you regularly exchange between £1,000 and £3,000 a month. That's the one benefit that saves most people real money. For everyone else, it's usually better to stay on Standard or skip straight to Premium.

Here's the maths. On the free plan, exchanging £2,500 in a month means a 1% fair usage fee on the £1,500 above the limit: £15. On Plus, the whole £2,500 is fee-free, for £3.99. If you're doing that every month (paying a foreign mortgage, sending money to family, or living partly abroad), Plus pays for itself many times over.

If you exchange more than £1,000 only once or twice a year, say on a big holiday, Plus doesn't pay. A one-off 1% fee on a few hundred pounds is cheaper than £40 a year.

What Revolut Plus doesn't include

Plus doesn't improve the things many people expect a paid plan to improve:

  • Savings rate: still 2.90% AER (variable), the same as Standard. Premium pays 3.25%.
  • RevPoints: still 1 per £10 spent. Premium earns 1 per £4.
  • ATM withdrawals: still £200 a month free, then 2% (minimum £1). Premium doubles it to £400.
  • Subscriptions: none. Uber One, Headspace, NordVPN and the other bundled apps start on Premium.
  • Weekend exchange: Plus still has weekend markups. Premium and above don't.

So if you want more than a bigger exchange limit, Plus is the wrong plan. Our Revolut plans comparison shows every plan side by side.

Revolut Plus vs Premium: which is better value?

Premium costs £5 a month more than Plus (£8.99 vs £3.99) but adds far more. It removes the exchange limit entirely, doubles free ATM withdrawals, raises the savings rate to 3.25%, earns 2.5 times the RevPoints, and includes subscriptions such as Uber One (for new Uber One members), Headspace and NordVPN.

Plus Premium
Monthly price £3.99 £8.99
Exchange limit £3,000 Unlimited
Weekend exchange fees Yes None
Free ATM withdrawals £200 £400
Savings (AER, variable) 2.90% 3.25%
RevPoints 1 per £10 1 per £4
Commission-free trades 3 a month 5 a month
Purchase protection Up to £1,000 a year Up to £2,500 a year
Bundled subscriptions None Yes

If you'd use even one of Premium's subscriptions, the extra £5 a month is usually covered. If you wouldn't, and your only problem is the exchange limit, Plus is the cheaper fix. Our Revolut Plus vs Premium comparison goes through the trade-offs in detail.

Who is Revolut Plus best for?

Plus may suit you if you:

  • Exchange £1,000 to £3,000 a month, for example paying bills abroad or sending money home
  • Want purchase protection on gadgets and online orders without paying for Premium
  • Want priority chat support and a personalised card
  • Want to link Kids & Teens accounts and a few extra free trades

It's probably not for you if you mainly travel once or twice a year, want a better savings rate, or want subscriptions. If you're sending larger sums abroad, compare Revolut with Wise in our Revolut vs Wise guide. Wise charges a transparent fee per transfer instead of a monthly plan.

Trading on Revolut carries risk. Capital at risk: the value of investments can go down as well as up.

FAQ

What is the difference between Revolut Standard and Plus?

Revolut Plus costs £3.99 a month and raises the fee-free exchange limit from £1,000 to £3,000 a month. It also adds purchase protection up to £1,000 a year, 3 commission-free trades instead of 1, priority chat and a personalised card. Savings, RevPoints and ATM limits are the same.

Can I cancel Revolut Plus at any time?

You can cancel Revolut Plus at any time, but it's a 12-month plan. If you pay monthly and cancel early, Revolut may charge a break fee, as set out in its Paid Plan Terms. If you pay annually, you keep the benefits until the end of the year you've paid for.

Does Revolut Plus include travel insurance?

No. Revolut Plus doesn't include travel insurance. Travel insurance starts on the Metal plan at £16.99 a month. Plus includes purchase protection up to £1,000 a year and extended refund and ticket cover, which protect things you buy rather than your trips.

Did Revolut Plus go up in price?

No. Revolut Plus stayed at £3.99 a month (£40 a year) in October 2026. Premium rose to £8.99, Metal to £16.99 and Ultra to £60 for new customers from 14 October 2026, and existing customers move to those prices on 19 December 2026.

Is Revolut Plus worth it for travel?

Only if you spend more than £1,000 abroad most months. The free Standard plan already gives you £1,000 a month of fee-free exchange, which covers most holidays. Plus raises that to £3,000. Frequent travellers who want no limits and no weekend markups are usually better on Premium.

The bottom line

Revolut Plus is a narrow upgrade. It's good value if your currency exchange regularly lands between £1,000 and £3,000 a month, and the purchase protection is a nice extra. For everyone else, the free Standard plan or Premium makes more sense.

If you're new to Revolut, open a free Revolut account first, check how much you actually exchange each month, then upgrade from the app if Plus fits. Our Revolut Standard review covers the free plan's limits in detail.
